This is a full-time position and receives all benefits afforded to regular employees. This position requires working 40 hours per week.
The purpose of this classification is to ensure compliance with animal control ordinances and laws, to include responding to complaints pertaining to animals, transporting/handling animals, and ensuring the safety/welfare of citizens.

Minimum Education, Training, and
Experience: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) months of previous experience and/or training involving animal control, animal care/handling, or kennel work is required. Must be able to lift a struggling 70-pound dog onto the back of a truck using a catch pole.
Required Certificates/Licenses: Valid Georgia Driver’s License. Must be able to obtain the American Humane Association’s Euthanasia-by-Injection Certification and the National Animal Control Association’s Certification within one year of employment.
