This position is part of UAB's Animal Resources Program and provides hands-on experience in laboratory animal care and facility operations. The successful candidate will receive training in animal husbandry, animal health observation, sanitation procedures, regulatory compliance, and safe operation of animal care equipment. This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in animal care, research support, or laboratory animal science. The position offers professional development, training toward AALAS certification, and opportunities for career progression within the Animal Resources Program. Work is performed onsite in a research animal facility and may include weekend and holiday coverage to ensure continuity of animal care.Key Duties & Responsibilities:
High School diploma or GED required. Work experience may NOT be substituted for education.
