Job Description

Kip Kew

Animal Attendant (Dog Daycare)

As the leading provider of pet care services across Australia, Kip Happy Stays sets the benchmark for excellence, ensuring every pet receives the ultimate in care and enrichment during their stay.

At Kip Happy Stays Kew, our team is passionate about creating a safe, fun and enriching environment for every dog in our care. We’re now looking for a Casual Animal Attendant to join our team and help deliver premium daycare experiences to our local pet community.

This is a physically active, hands-on role in a busy daycare environment where no two days are the same. You’ll spend most of your shift on your feet supervising groups of dogs, maintaining high cleaning standards, supporting daily operations and providing a great experience for both pets and their owners.

The environment can be loud, fast-paced and demanding at times, so we’re looking for resilient, positive team members who genuinely enjoy working with dogs and thrive when things get busy.

The ideal candidate will be available to work flexible shifts across Monday to Friday between 6:30am–6:30pm.

What are the responsibilities of the role?

• Supervising groups of dogs and managing behaviours to maintain overall wellbeing and safety

• Providing canine enrichment through play and scheduled activities

• Implementing daily leadership and training activities

• Frequent cleaning and upkeep of facilities

• Building rapport with pet owners through daily feedback and transparent communication

• Creating and sharing pupdates, photos and videos for pet owners

• Completing daily administration, including answering enquiries, record keeping and preparing documents

What are the minimum requirements?

• Available to attend a lawful unpaid work trial shift (operated within Fair Work Ombudsman guidelines)

• Confident handling dogs of all sizes, including larger breeds

• Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach

• Comfortable working on your feet for long, active shifts in a fast-paced environment

• Able to multitask and work calmly under pressure

• A positive attitude with openness to learning and feedback

• Comfortable using phone applications, social media and basic video editing for pupdates and customer communication

• A passion for canine behaviour, enrichment and training

Why Kip Happy Stays?

• Did someone say pets?!

• Opportunities for career growth with a promote-from-within culture

• Extensive training to build your skillset

• Up to 50% off shop items, boarding and daycare services

• Incentive programs for leaders to earn performance-based bonuses

• Structured induction program to set you up for success

• Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with free confidential counselling

• Work with like-minded people in a fun, fast-paced and well-established business

• Generous Employee Referral Program – earn up to $3,000 for successful referrals

How to apply

Include a cover letter outlining why you are the best fit for the role. If you don’t tick every box or don’t have animal handling experience, we’d still love to hear how your skills are transferable.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a one-way video interview.

We look forward to reviewing your application!
