Eurofins Animal Health is a leading provider of veterinary contract research services and technical support to the global animal health industry. We specialise in the design, management and execution of pre-clinical and clinical studies. Our studies are conducted to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) quality standards. These studies are relied upon by our clients to gain regulatory approval for new veterinary medicines in Australia and overseas.

Eurofins Animal Health Australia (EAH) are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to fill the role of Animal Attendant on a casual basis. This position is based at our accredited research facility in Wallacia and is responsible for the routine care of cats and dogs.

Reporting to the Research Facility Manager, the role will focus on:

  • Daily provision of food, water, cleaning and interaction with cats and dogs.
  • Observing animals’ behaviour, and their interactions with people and one another.
  • Implementing health monitoring procedures and routine animal husbandry activities.
  • General facility and equipment cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining animal records and assisting research staff, as required.

Qualifications

As a key role within our team, the following selection criteria are essential for success:

  • Experience and confidence in handling cats and dogs.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, effective communication and motivation to contribute to the success of a small team.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake physical work, often outside and in all seasons.
  • Applicants should have a Certificate in Animal Studies (at minimum).
  • Vet nursing experience or qualification would be an advantage.
  • The role involves rostering over weekends & public holidays, 2 – 3 days a week including Sunday. Applicants must have their own transport, current driver’s licence as no regular public transport is available to the facility.
