Job Description

Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for an Anesthetist to partner with us in providing medical services to UN sponsored Kenyan Peacekeepers and US Government staff at a field hospital in Port Au Prince, Haiti. This will be a deployed, rotational contract, ideally with a 3 month on, 1 month off, rotation cycle.

The team will be based in a secure, purpose-built camp and hospital facility in Port au Prince, Haiti, and all service delivery requirements will be conducted within the confines of that facility. All support services are being provided by the US Government, including camp facilities and basic life support requirements, including travel, meals, accommodation, internet, and other ancillary support services.

Aspen Medical will provide a Level 2 Field Hospital with EMS, Pre-Hospital Care, Surgical, Diagnostic and Laboratory, and other ancillary services. All clinic service delivery services will be provided in accordance with US clinical standards and compliance measures.

Citizenship

  • All Aspen Medical staff must be US citizens or Green Card holders.
  • Sponsorship will not be available.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school with a Degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
  • Completion of an approved, accredited residency training program in Critical Care based on specialty.

Board Certification:

  • Must hold board certification of specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association.

License:  

  • Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Experience:  

  • Minimum of three (3) years of current experience, actively practicing in specialty (Anesthesiology), post-board certification. 

Certification:

  • Current, valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in Haitian Creole and/or French is highly desired.
  • A secondary language is preferred.

This position will be a contractor, with a fixed daily rate while on rotation. You will not receive pay while off rotation.
