Job Description

Mount Nittany Health is seeking BC/BE Anesthesiologists/Pain Management Physician! Join an employed group consisting of 11 physicians and 20+ CRNA’s that provide coverage at Mount Nittany Medical Center, a 260-bed acute care facility in State College, PA. State College offers all of the luxuries of a college town—including short commutes, NCAA Sports, Arts, high quality schools and outdoor recreation abounds with beautiful hiking and biking trails. Community based medicine is a plus! The physician will be provided a robust recruitment package.

The Position: Anesthesia

·1 Hospital: Mount Nittany Medical Center

·12 total OR’s and an off-site Surgery Center with 4 OR’s.

·1 OB Suite

·4 Endo/GI Suites

·11 FT Anesthesiologists and 20+ CRNA’s

·Call is approx. every 6 -7 days (Mix of first call and back up call)

·CRNA Medical Direction Model

·Major Service lines include: General, GU, OB, Spine, ENT, GYN, Plastic, Ortho, and Vascular

·Low Peds volume

·No Open-Heart Surgery and No Heads

·EMR: Meditech

The Position: Pain Management

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Provide evidence-informed medical and/or interventional pain management to patients based on appropriate clinical indication and meet high standards of care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, MRIs, and laboratory studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Utilize fluoroscopy or ultrasound to perform most interventions.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in collaborative care with other providers and support the services available for multidisciplinary interventional pain management.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities to stay abreast of advancements in pain management techniques and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols in a timely and professional manner.
  • Other duties based on need, including teaching, research, educational presentations, expert opinion report preparation, and administrative tasks.

Compensation Package:

·W2: Completive Compensation and Benefits package

·PTO: 9 weeks

·CME: 1 week

·CME allowance $3,500 annually

·Sign-on bonus: $40k over 3 years

Qualification

  • Medical Doctor Degree (University-affiliated medical school preferred).
  • Resident training in university-affiliated hospital preferred.
  • Current Pennsylvania medical license.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • ABA Board-certification and pain fellowship required
  • Past medical licensure has never been challenged, suspended or revoked.
  • Hospital privileges have never been revoked at any hospital.
  • No past convictions for fraud, narcotics, or any felony offense.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Requires working under stress in emergency situations or during irregular hours.
