Position Requirements

Anesthesiologist opportunity at North American Partners in Anesthesia’s new site, Methodist Texsan Hospital in beautiful San Antonio, Texas.

NAPA, the largest anesthesia provider in the country, is expanding its partnership with HCA Methodist Healthcare system in San Antonio, TX. Methodist Texsan Hospital is a 120-bed facility with Full-Service Emergency Department, 4 operating rooms, 4 cardiac catheterization labs, a 24-hour cardiovascular emergency department, and even a rooftop helicopter pad. Methodist Healthcare System is a 50-50 co-ownership between Methodist Healthcare Ministries, South Texas’ largest non-public funding source of community health care, contributing $976 million since 1995; and HCA Healthcare, the nation’s leading provider of health care services.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department

  • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures

  • Pre-anesthesia assessment

  • Obtains and/or verifies patient consent

  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia

  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition

  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine

  • ECFMG and FLEX

  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia

  • Currently licensed as a physician
