Works the assigned schedule including overtime as required.
Assist with the orientation of new employees.
Performs related duties as required.
Interact cooperatively with doctors, nurses and other workers in the operating room using effective verbal, auditory and visual communication skills. Assist anesthestologist and CRNA's as necessary. Communicates regularly with supervisors and other disciplines to maintain anesthesis equipment in good working condition.
Maintains accurate inventory and adequate supply of drugs, supplies and equipment in the anesthesis workrooms (including daily check, ordering, and pick up from pharmacy, storeroom and other anesthesis equipment suppliers).
Maintains anesthesis equipment in a clean, "ready to use" state(i.e. monitoring devices, infusion pumps, with proper tubing, change batteries where required, maintains gas tanks with tubing and smbu bags and working regulator).
Set up IV solutions and blood warmers daily.
Cleans and prepares anesthesia work station between cases to include
Restocks anesthesis carts and machines daily per inventory sheets.
Cleans major equipment thoroughly daily unless circumstances more frequent cleaning. Major equipment: anesthesis machines, all monitors and attachments, anesthesis carts, all monitors and attachments (between each case), bins and drawers.
Clean equipment according to proper maintenance requirements and Hospital/OSHA/JCAHO Standards.
Remains available to bring extra equipment and supplies to the the Anesthetist in the Operating Room.
Keeps the anesthesia workroom clean, neat and orderly.
Maintains clean and completely stocked IV carts at all times.
Completes charge sheets as directed by Director of Nurse Anesthesia department.
Batches anesthesia charges on a daily basis.

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
High School Diploma or equivalent Required
Related experience in an anesthesia setting Preferred
Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
