Anesthesia Technician (Frisco)

Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical Center

Monday - Friday

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary anesthesiology technician assisting anesthesiologist with routine to complex procedures before, during and after anesthesia procedures

  • Prepare and calibrate equipment and verifies proper working order of equipment prior to procedures

  • Perform complex troubleshooting of anesthesia equipment and ensures daily adequate supply of reserve oxygen, air and nitrous oxide

  • Prepare and set up IV solutions/lines

  • Assist anesthesiologists with procedures by passing supplies, instruments and lines, and assists with intubation and insertion of invasive monitoring lines

  • Meet with sales representatives from medical supply companies

  • Order anesthesia supplies and equipment and ensure all anesthesia areas are well stocked

Required Skills/Abilities

  • High school graduate or equivalent required

  • Knowledge of basic anatomy, biology, chemistry, pharmacology surgical instrumentation at a level generally acquired through 1 year or more of post high school training in nursing or related allied health field

  • Knowledge of principles of asepsis and sterile technique with basic operating room technique and standards

  • BLS certification required
