Exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Anesthesia Pain Services team, supporting both Strong Memorial Hospital (SMH) and Highland Hospital (HH) in a collaborative and dynamic role. This full-time position provides clinical coverage across two unique care environments—Strong Memorial Hospital and Highland Hospital—delivering high-quality services to patients with complex pain management needs. The majority of the clinical time will be at SMH
At SMH, the provider will deliver comprehensive evaluation and management (E&M) services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients through the Inpatient Chronic Pain Service and the Integrated Cancer Pain Service, including outpatient care at the Wilmot Cancer Institute. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and coordinating interventional procedures in collaboration with attending anesthesiologists. The provider will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including surgical, orthopedic, pediatric, palliative, and oncology services, to ensure integrated and effective pain management.
At HH, the provider will deliver comprehensive evaluation and management (E&M) services to the adult, and geriatric patients through the Inpatient Palliative care service. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and coordinating interventional procedures in collaboration with Pain management attending. The provider will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including surgical, orthopedic , and oncology services, to ensure integrated and effective pain management. Provider will participate in cross-coverage with the Highland Hospital Palliative Care Service, completing pain consultations and supporting patient-centered pain management strategies in collaboration with SMH Pain management attending and Inpatient palliative care providers.

Qualifications:
Family Nurse Practitioner
Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and active New York State license in good standing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner in their respective area.
Physician Assistant
Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assist
NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
