Drive Product Impact: Actively shape product direction by identifying opportunities to improve reader experience, app performance, and stability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with our Web developers, Product Owners, and other Technology teams across Belgrade and Zurich.
Modern Stack & Architecture: Work with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVVM architecture, Clean Code principles, and asynchronous flow handling.
Hybrid Application Platform: Develop and refine hybrid integration features, seamlessly integrating modern web components and WebViews with high-performance native Android capabilities.
CI/CD & Engineering Excellence: Maintain and optimize automated build, test, and release pipelines using GitHub Actions and Google Play Console.
AI Integration & Innovation: Champion the adoption of AI tools and features, contributing to Tamedia's strategic investment in AI to enhance user engagement and engineering efficiency.
Experience: At least 3+ years of hands-on Android app development experience with Kotlin and a strong track record of publishing apps to the Google Play Store.
Core Mobile Expertise: Solid understanding of modern Android architecture patterns, Jetpack libraries (Compose, ViewModel, Coroutines/Flow), lifecycle management, and UI optimization.
Hybrid Architecture Comfort: Experience or strong willingness to work with hybrid app setups (WebViews communicating with native code).
Doer Mindset: Flexibility and openness to collaborate across team boundaries, like jumping in to support web or iOS efforts when the product calls for it.
Communication & Teamwork: Excellent spoken and written English, with an open and communicative mindset for collaborating across distributed teams.
Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or shared core libraries.
Background in Google Play Billing, In-App Purchases, and Push Notifications.
Exposure to modern web frameworks (TypeScript, React, Node.js).
