Anatomic Pathology Lab Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Location: Manitowoc, WI
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

We’re seeking an Anatomic Pathology Lab Supervisor to lead daily operations in a fast-paced dermatopathology laboratory. In this role, you’ll combine technical expertise with leadership to drive quality, efficiency, and team performance—playing a critical role in delivering accurate, timely results that directly impact patient care.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team

  • Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to Histotechnicians and Lab Assistants
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive team environment
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and competency-based training in compliance with CLIA standards
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to support growth and development
  • Manage scheduling, PTO, and payroll approvals to ensure optimal coverage

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day lab operations to ensure quality, productivity, and turnaround time goals are met
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to specimens, workflow, equipment, or staffing
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and inspection-ready lab environment
  • Partner with leadership to identify and implement process improvements

Stay Hands-On in the Lab

  • Accession and gross tissue specimens (measure, ink, cut, and document)
  • Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and slide preparation
  • Execute H&E staining, special stains, and immunohistochemistry as needed
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment

Ensure Compliance & Quality

  • Uphold the highest standards of patient safety and quality
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA regulations
  • Serve as a key escalation point for operational and personnel-related concerns

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s degree in a science-related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • Completion of a histology training program required
  • ASCP certification (preferred)
  • At least 1 year of laboratory experience; leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Proficiency with lab systems and basic Microsoft Office tools
