Job Description

As an Analytics Engineer, you will work at the intersection of engineering, data, and analytics to develop solutions that improve equipment reliability, enable early anomaly detection, and support root cause analysis across the fleet.

You will collaborate closely with domain experts, product services, and monitoring & diagnostics teams to translate engineering problems into scalable analytics solutions using time-series data. This role provides an opportunity to build strong technical depth while working on high-impact industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with domain experts and cross-functional teams to understand equipment behavior, failure modes, and business requirements

  • Analyze large-scale time-series sensor data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies

  • Develop, test, and deploy analytics for monitoring, diagnostics, and early warning systems

  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) by performing data analysis, validating hypotheses, and identifying affected unit populations

  • Build and maintain data pipelines, feature engineering workflows, and reusable components for analytics development

  • Develop visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to engineering and services teams

  • Contribute to fleet-level analytics to provide insights across multiple assets and improve risk identification

  • Ensure data quality, validation, and performance optimization of analytics solutions in production environments

  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and results clearly for broader team consumption

Desired Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or related fields)

  • Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis

  • Proficiency in Python or similar programming language

  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and basic software development practices

  • Gas Power Edison Engineer; Completion of LPX, Teardown Training; Progress toward completion of Engineering Masters degree and/or ACE Certificate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with time-series data analysis and signal processing

  • Exposure to machine learning or statistical modeling techniques

  • Familiarity with data analysis libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, etc.)

  • Experience with data visualization tools or libraries

  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms or data processing systems

  • Knowledge of industrial systems or equipment analytics is a plus
