Job Description

At ING, data is at the heart of how we grow, optimise and innovate. As we continue to enhance the way we engage customers and enable smarter, faster decision‑making, we’re looking for an Analytics Enablement Expert to help elevate our data capability across the Growth Tribe. In this role, you’ll drive high‑quality reporting, accelerate campaign development, streamline fulfilment processes, and embed data‑driven thinking across diverse teams.

Please note this is a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract based in Sydney

Working closely with the Analytics Enablement Centre of Excellence Lead and cross‑functional partners, you’ll shape the structures, tools and insights that power our Marketing Optimisation, Campaign and Fulfilment operations. You’ll play a key role in enhancing our data marts, building scalable reporting solutions, and enabling stakeholders to self‑serve analytics. The Analytics Enablement CoE is a small, highly skilled team operating at the intersection of data analysis and software development, tackling complex, high‑value problems across retail banking. The work is fast‑paced and varied, offering strong visibility to senior stakeholders, exposure to multiple business functions, and significant scope to deepen both technical and professional capability.

In this secondment, you’ll step into a critical, high‑visibility role at the centre of a complex, multi‑stakeholder incentive fulfilment transformation. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Product, Customer Insights, Technology and the Analytics Enablement CoE to ensure every campaign is designed, validated and executed with absolute accuracy. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop a deep understanding of ING’s incentive campaigns, influence their design and deployment, translate campaign terms and conditions into automated fulfilment logic, and enhance skills in data quality testing, governance, and tools including SAS, SQL and Python. We’re seeking someone who can confidently take ownership in a high‑stakes environment, navigate ambiguity, and work seamlessly across the business.

If you’re passionate about turning data into action, improving processes end‑to‑end, and supporting innovation through analytical excellence, this is an opportunity to make a tangible impact at ING.

What you’ll do

  • Deep-dive- into campaign briefs to fully understand eligibility rules, contact strategies, fulfilment logic, timelines and channels, assessing feasibility within current data and engine structures, and identifying required enhancements.
  • Lead structured alignment across stakeholders, capturing requirements and logic decisions through clear documentation and email trails, and driving consensus across Marketing, CI, Product, and Technology. This includes managing questions, resolving inconsistencies, and ensuring all parties are aligned before build.
  • Conduct rigorous code and logic testing of fulfilment-engine changes, validating every scenario end-to--end-, re-running tests after any update, and documenting outcomes to ensure stability before deployment.
  • Resolve ambiguous or conflicting terms & conditions, proactively engaging product owners to clarify intent, challenge inconsistencies across similar campaigns, and ensure final logic is both correct and implementable.
  • Maintain and enhance the Fulfilment Criteria Store, ensuring all narrative, dates, logic, and success measures are accurately configured - with meticulous quality checks, given that even minor errors can impact customer outcomes.

What we’re looking for

  • Exceptional internal knowledge of ING’s people, systems, processes, and campaign ecosystem - ideally from having been in the business long enough to build meaningful context.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence, clarify ambiguity, and keep diverse stakeholders aligned throughout extended decision cycles.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially when reviewing logic, interpreting T&Cs, validating code, or maintaining fulfilment criteria.
  • Great working relationships with colleagues across Marketing, Product, IT, CI, and the wider Growth Tribe, enabling smooth collaboration and timely alignment.
  • Solid technical capability in SAS/SQL and a strong understanding of ING’s data warehouse structures, allowing you to validate build logic, troubleshoot issues, and engage effectively in technical discussions.

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance
  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing
  • An IMPACT day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity
