Join our Global Professional Services team as a Data Modeler, where you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between client needs, business objectives, and cutting-edge technology solutions, particularly supporting our new Private Cloud clients.

In this role we are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Modeler to join a growing Global Team based in the UK. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure on the Azure cloud platform. What will I be doing?

As a part of the Professional Services New Frontiers team, the Analytic Server Modeler will participate in the analysis, exploration, and analytics model development efforts for our professional services organization. You will be part of a new industry group tasked with expanding our business into new capabilities and markets.

This role will include working with clients to understand the use cases at a technical level and to translate those requirements into the development of multi-dimensional business models and analytics. Initially, the role will entail working very closely with one of the senior technical leaders and supporting existing engagements, as well as proof of concept for new clients. Ultimately, this role will transition into a leader of a self-contained team as new markets expand.

The role will work very tightly with the business teams to understand use cases and translation into the measures, dimensions and algorithms required to support those insights. This role will be responsible for documenting the required model, as well as the build, test and deployment. Initially, this role will primarily be in all areas of retail and hospitality, however, expected to expand into other industries.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interfacing both with the front-end business teams, as well as the data, sourcing and engineering teams
  • Support of initial sales process including interacting with client technical teams
  • Conversion of business requirements into data and business model requirements
  • Design, development, and testing of new analytics features & capabilities
  • Collaborate with other team members in creation and extension of multi-dimensional models
  • Directly support the ongoing development and maintenance of systems lifecycle methodologies

Requirements

  • Engineering, Science or Business Degree with a heavy focus on systems technology
  • Demonstrated understanding of data manipulation and broad quantitative techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and DDL
  • Advanced expertise in an object-oriented language, such as Java, C++, or C#
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in big data analytics and coding in Python or similar scripting language.
  • Problem solving mindset
  • Good verbal and written communication (including documentation) skills
  • Knowledge and experience on Big Data infrastructures (MPP databases and Distributed Data platforms) and any Cloud platform is a plus
  • Understanding, as well as the ability to clearly communicate OLAP principles is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge and experience in retail and hospitality is a plus but not required.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $170,000.

This job is also eligible for [bonus/incentive/commissions/equity] pay.
