What you'll do:

As an Analyst/Assistant Vice President Country Human Resources Support based in Australia, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive operational assistance to the Head of HR. Your day-to-day activities will involve acting as a key liaison between senior leadership and HR functions while ensuring that all processes adhere strictly to local legal requirements. You will coordinate various cyclical and ad-hoc HR programmes simultaneously—ranging from organising engagement initiatives to supporting regulatory submissions—while maintaining meticulous documentation. Your role will require you to monitor risk indicators related to people management, prepare materials for governance committees or external regulators, manage annual certifications or audits, and facilitate communication between cross-functional teams. Success in this position hinges on your ability to balance global consistency with local relevance; you must be adept at navigating complex organisational structures while fostering an environment of compliance and engagement. By supporting sensitive people processes involving senior leaders—such as onboarding or contract changes—you will help embed the global people strategy at the country level. • Provide essential operational support to the Head of HR within the country for both Bank and Securities divisions, ensuring all HR activities comply with local labour laws and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the main interaction point between the Country Head (General Manager) and HR, gathering information on local business needs and passing these insights to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing inputs for people plans and HR strategies by collating local data or insights as required for strategic decision-making.
• Organise and deliver HR programmes and initiatives within the country, supporting alignment with both local needs and global direction.
• Maintain and update reference materials on country-specific employment practices to ensure team awareness and compliance with regulations.
• Deliver timely HR support for internal and external boards and committees by preparing accurate reports, statutory submissions, presentations, and other materials.
• Monitor and collate data on people-related risk indicators such as mandatory training compliance or whistleblowing activity for reporting purposes.
• Coordinate annual certifications, licence renewals, statutory audit responses by managing trackers, liaising with relevant teams, and ensuring timely follow-up.
• Support employee relations activity by providing administrative assistance in case management, maintaining accurate records, preparing documents for meetings with trade unions or employee representatives.
• Liaise with Payroll, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Risk teams to gather information needed for updating HR systems, payroll documents, procedural guidelines, and employee communications.

• Comprehensive knowledge of local employment laws including common law practice and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills enabling clear interaction across cultures within a global environment.
• Degree of adaptability coupled with resilience when navigating complex organisational structures or shifting priorities.
• Comfortable analysing data using Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) to support strategic decisions.
