Job Description

ING Australia’s Wholesale Bank is looking to hire a couple of Analysts working in our Acquisition Finance (“AF”) and Loan Distribution Group (“LDG” ) teams, to be based in our Sydney office.

AF and LDG are global platforms of professionals in offices across Europe, the US and APAC.

AF is a market leading originator of leveraged loans, structuring and executing loans backing buyouts by some of the largest top tier global private equity funds. Our growing AF team in APAC consists of 8 professionals located across Sydney and Singapore working together to cover all relevant deals across the APAC region. AF is responsible for leveraged loan transactions and coverage of global and regional private equity funds operating in Asia and Australia.

Similarly, our LDG team is a market leading arranger and underwriter of syndicated loans – structuring and executing high-profile transactions for both investment grade and non-investment grade borrowers in APAC and providing advice and market expertise to ING’s clients and relevant departments within ING. LDG APAC consists of 11 professionals located across Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with the attitude and skillset to be part of a highly dynamic and driven team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment gaining exposure to live deals, working directly with senior bankers in the industry. You’ll develop deep expertise in financial modelling, credit analysis, transaction structuring, syndication and execution.


We are looking for candidates with 1 to 2 years’ relevant experience in loan capital markets, leveraged finance or related financial services. You will have strong analytical capability, exceptional attention to detail, and a hunger to learn and to take on key responsibilities within the team. What you’ll do

  • Support origination by preparing pitch books, market research, capital structure reviews, and other marketing materials

  • Assist in executing live transactions, including financial modelling, conducting financial, business and market analysis, liquidity analysis, preparation of credit applications, due diligence review and managing the smooth execution of transactions

  • Support syndication processes including preparation of syndication materials, Q&A and maintaining an active dialogue with banks and other loan investors

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across Sector Teams, DCM, Financial Markets and Corporate Finance (M&A) to deliver integrated solutions to ING’s clients

  • Ensure compliance with ING policies, conduct expectations and all relevant regulatory and ethical standards across your day‑to‑day activities

What we’re looking for

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in leveraged finance, loan capital markets/corporate lending or related financial services

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Advanced Mathematics or a related discipline with strong academic results

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to perform financial modelling and financial analysis

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

  • Highly organised, detail‑driven and comfortable working under tight timelines in a fast‑paced team environment

  • Self‑motivated team player with strong initiative and the ability to build effective relationships across teams
