THE ROLE:

The Analyst, Treasury position is responsible responsible for providing financial, analytical and strategic support to the Treasury Manager and other key business leaders as needed.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Produce a daily cash flow report, transfer required analysis, review weekly A/P, as well as make sure monthly wires and transfers are entered and transmitted.
  • Produce complete, accurate, timely and meaningful financial information within deadlines for the quarter and month end reporting and audit requirements, for debt, and cash information.
  • Prepare journal entries for business transactions monthly.
  • Liaison with organizations and banks when dealing with fraud issues, unpostable items, transfer discrepancies, deposit slip orders and letters of credit.
  • Administration of corporate credit card program.
  • Responsible for liaising with banks and senior management regarding opening and closing of bank accounts.
  • Compile information periodically for requests from various parties.
  • Liaise with mortgage lenders regarding statements of balances, mortgage repayments and property tax payments.
  • Provide guidance, informal training or instruction to co‑workers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:

Academic/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration, and minimum two years’ experience in full-cycle Accounting.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Accounting experience in Real Estate or Construction industry preferred.
  • Accounting designation (CGA, CMA) would be considered a strong asset.
  • Working knowledge of Accounting software (Oracle, M3) would be a definite asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong time and self-management skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively liaise/coordinate with other departments.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Belief in continual process improvement, but you must be ready to jump in to handle urgent problems as they occur.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze accounting records, adopt methods needed to solve accounting problems.
  • Flexible team player who is willing to help whenever possible.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.

Mental Effort required to perform the job:

  • Frequent mental and visual concentration during computer work daily.
  • Frequent listening and mental attentiveness in dealing with Vendor, Customer or Public, and Manager’s requirements.
  • Frequent mental effort required in multi-tasking and handling interruptions that require constant refocusing.

Physical Effort required to perform the job:

  • Continuously requires manual dexterity speed and hand/eye coordination to operate computer systems daily.
  • Periodic lifting of computer hardware and office administration materials such as physical files, binders, banker boxes, etc.

Responsibility for Resources:

  • Responsible for work area.
  • Responsible for confidential Tax & Treasury documents, equipment, and protocols related to the company.

Working Conditions

  • Continuously working at a workstation assigned by the Manager.
  • Continuously working in a climate-controlled office.
  • Infrequent travel to properties, as required.
  • Frequent meetings to discuss various Tax & Treasury subject matter.
  • Flexible working hours, as required.

Type of Supervision Required

  • Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
