The Role

The Analyst, Tax Operations will assist with IFM’s ongoing global tax reporting obligations. This will include FATCA/CRS compliance, Australian 3rd party reporting (e.g. AIIR), global withholding tax requirements and US investor tax reporting.

You will have day-to-day responsibility for delivering key components of the end-to-end compliance process. This includes activities such as reviewing investor tax documentation to meet AEOI and US withholding obligations, preparing reporting data, and working with external vendors to finalise reporting deliverables.

In addition, you will support the monitoring of regulatory changes relevant to Tax Operations and assist in assessing impacts on existing processes and obligations.

The role will also involve contributing to the implementation of changes arising from new tax laws, regulatory requirements, new products, or evolving investor profiles.

Identifying opportunities to reduce risk, improve data quality, and enhance process efficiency will be key to success in this role.

Your Background and Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in tax accounting, preferably in funds management or other financial services roles (including ‘Big 4’ firms)
  • Tertiary qualification in tax, accounting, law, business, finance, economics or a related field

  • CPA/CA qualification preferred
  • Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded but not mandatory:

    • investor tax withholding and reporting obligations across a range of jurisdictions, especially in relation to CRS, FATCA, AU 3rd-party reporting (AIIR, AMMA, etc) and US regulatory reporting e.g. 1042-S and 1099

    • other general financial services tax compliance

  • General understanding of the funds management and the financial services industry

  • Knowledge of investment accounting including trust and partnership tax accounting and allocations of trust and partnership income will be highly regarded but not mandatory
