The Tax Analyst maintains tax accounting for assigned companies, which includes GAAP and local reporting, prepares tax returns, assists with planning and related reports to ensure organization compliance with tax laws and regulations, and ensures accurate, reliable, and timely tax compliance preparation and reporting.
Principal Duties:
Prepare and analyze assigned monthly and quarterly tax accruals for domestic and foreign jurisdictions consistent with the rules and interpretations under ASC 740 and other bases of accounting.
Prepare US GAAP accrual for assigned companies for the planning and forecasting process.
Compile and analyze accounting information and prepare federal and state income tax returns. Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Collaborate with other members of global tax to understand tax rules in local jurisdictions in order to properly report for US GAAP and local accounting basis.
Prepare responses to requests for information from outside taxing authorities.
Assist with analysis concerning tax planning opportunities as they affect RGA and client companies.
Assist in implementation of process improvements
Participate in the overall department internal control and compliance.
Perform research, analysis and provide recommendations to tax policies and procedures.
Maintain a high degree of accuracy and adhere to tight deadlines.
Maintain frequent contact with management and staff associates in finance, valuation, and administration to facilitate accomplishment of department objectives.
Participate in ad hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Work Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience required
CPA or Masters of Tax preferred
Work Experience:
3+ years in tax accounting required
Public accounting experience preferred
OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax Provision experience preferred
Skills & Abilities:
Basic Word skills
Intermediate Excel and SQL/Query skills
Intermediate skills in the application of ASC 740-10
Flexibility, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills demonstrating the ability to share and impart knowledge

Compensation Range:
$78,080.00 - $110,860.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
