Analyst - Penetration Testing Engagement

The mission of the Penetration Testing Squad is to keep ANZ safe through the proactive identification and management of cyber security risks across applications, systems, and services.

As a Penetration Testing Analyst, you will play a key role in enabling the successful delivery of penetration testing engagements across the enterprise. This role focuses on the planning, coordination, governance, tracking, and reporting of penetration testing activities rather than the hands-on execution of security assessments.

You will work closely with penetration testers, technology teams, application owners, project stakeholders, and security partners to ensure testing engagements are effectively planned, delivered, tracked, and reported. Through strong stakeholder engagement and operational excellence, you will help strengthen ANZ's security assurance capabilities while driving continuous improvement across the penetration testing program.

What will your day look like?

As a Penetration Testing Analyst, you will be accountable for:

• Coordinate end-to-end penetration testing engagements across ANZ's technology landscape.
• Partner with security, engineering, and application teams to plan and schedule testing activities.
• Track engagement progress, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and remediation outcomes to ensure timely completion.
• Act as a key liaison between penetration testers, stakeholders, and technology teams throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Prepare and communicate status updates, dashboards, metrics, and reports to stakeholders and leadership.
• Monitor and support remediation tracking to ensure identified security findings are appropriately addressed.
• Maintain accurate records of testing engagements, findings, exceptions, and risk treatment activities.
• Support governance and assurance activities related to penetration testing and security assessments.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and operational effectiveness.
• Contribute to the continual enhancement of ANZ's penetration testing and security assurance practices.

What will you bring?

• 4+ years of experience in Cyber Security, Information Security, Security Assurance, Vulnerability Management, or Penetration Testing environments.
• Strong experience coordinating security initiatives, assessments, audits, or enterprise-wide security activities.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Proven ability to plan, organise, track, and manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using enterprise collaboration and workflow tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar platforms.
• Strong reporting and analytical skills, with experience creating dashboards, metrics, and executive-level updates.
• Good understanding of penetration testing methodologies, security testing lifecycles, and industry frameworks such as OWASP, CWE, or PTES.
• Understanding of cyber security risks, vulnerabilities, and remediation processes, with the ability to interpret and communicate technical findings.
• Familiarity with modern technology environments, including Agile delivery, cloud platforms, source code repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.
• A continuous learning mindset with a passion for improving security processes, stakeholder outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
