Job Description

The MES Analyst is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the MES within the manufacturing environment. This role will provide PLC and application support and resolve system-related issues across multiple shop floor technologies, including MES, SPC, SQL, and PLC integrations. The primary focus of this role is to improve product quality, yield, equipment efficiency, and overall machine integration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support for shop floor systems and data integration to and from these systems
  • Continue to expand understanding of manufacturing processes and apply this knowledge to existing and new systems solutions
  • Develop, implement, and support automation systems including distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), and SCADA systems to the manufacturing processes
  • Support, maintain, and troubleshoot Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications integrated with PLC and MES systems
  • Support Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations on a daily basis to identify, troubleshoot, and solve basic issues
  • Support and troubleshoot SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Troubleshoot reported problems affecting production in various technical platforms
  • Self-motivated, willing and able to quickly understand the environment, and work hands on to solve business issues
  • Support shop floor networks (Layer 2) in conjunction with network engineers
  • Be willing and able to provide 24/7 support
  • Travel up to 40% as projects require

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of relevant shop-floor systems experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of remote desktop & ThinManager
  • Knowledge of Rockwell (FactoryTalk) solutions
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server
  • Knowledge of PLC Ladder Logic (Allen Bradley)
  • Analytical and written/verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, curious, and inquisitive
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 0-2 years of relevant shop floor systems experience
  • Project Management expertise, ideally including PMP certification
  • Technical experience implementing in and supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot shop floor networks
  • Practical knowledge of S88 and S95 ISA Standards
  • Practical knowledge of CPwE Design & Implementation
  • Familiarity with networking equipment and protocols (Cisco, Stratix)
  • Software development skills (C#, JavaScript, C++, Python)
  • Knowledge of VMWare solutions (vCenter)
  • Knowledge of InfinityQS/Advantive
  • Knowledge of Aveva/WonderWare solutions

Working Conditions


• Work is performed in an office setting.• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
