Certification Requirement:
• Mandatory: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) – vSphere 6.0 or above
• Preferred: Higher-level VMware certifications (vSphere 7.x/8.x)
We are looking for a highly skilled VMware L3 Engineer to manage, support, and optimize our VMware-based infrastructure running on VMware vSphere 8.0, Dell & Lenovo rack servers, RHEL 9, and Hitachi Storage. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in VMware operations, troubleshooting, cluster design, performance tuning, and independent handling of critical incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
VMware Infrastructure Management:
• Install, configure, and manage VMware ESXi hosts (vSphere 8.0).
• Design, build, and maintain VMware Clusters including HA, DRS, and Networking.
• Perform host patching, ESXi upgrades, and firmware upgrades.
• Execute capacity planning and environment optimization.
Performance & Troubleshooting:
• Perform deep performance troubleshooting across VMware layers.
• Conduct log analysis for root cause identification.
• Identify infrastructure gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Independently handle P1/P2 incidents.
Monitoring & Automation:
• Configure and fine-tune VMware monitoring setups.
• Work with alert thresholds, dashboards, and performance parameters.
• Exposure to vROps, vRA, vRO is an added advantage.
OS & Storage Awareness:
• Basic working knowledge of Linux (RHEL 9).
• Basic understanding of enterprise storage, preferably Hitachi.
• Knowledge of datastores, LUNs, and multipathing.
ITSM & Process Compliance:
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
• Create and manage Incidents, Changes, and Requests.
• Experience with ServiceNow is an advantage.
• Work with OEMs and vendors for escalations.
Agile & Collaboration:
• Basic understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Working knowledge of JIRA.
• Participate in audits and operational reviews.
Required Skills:
• VMware vSphere 6.0+ certified.
• Strong hands-on experience with ESXi and vCenter.
• Experience with Dell and Lenovo servers.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently.
Proficiency in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi administration.
Hands-on experience with ESXi patching, lifecycle management, and firmware upgrades.
Experience with vRealize Suite, including vRO for automation.
Strong understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS).
Good knowledge of NVMe-based storage, shared clusters, and storage integration with VMware environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially during high-severity incidents (P1/P2).
Hardware lifecycle management via xclarity/sell Open manager
Basic AI understanding is mandatory
Preferred / Added Advantages:
• ServiceNow hands-on experience.
• Exposure to vROps, vRA, vRO.
• Experience in large enterprise environments.
Behavioral Expectations:
• Strong ownership and accountability.

Having a basic understanding or exposure to AI tools would be a plus.
