HSBC’s Infrastructure Finance team, part of Global Corporate and Institutional Banking, provides a full suite of services to corporates, financial sponsors, financial institutions, and governments in several sectors, including Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, Renewables, Transportation, Logistics, Support Services, and Digital/Telecommunication infrastructure. The team provides a single point for clients to access advice on financing, capital structuring and debt capital markets, as well as the associated execution of mandates.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Analyst - Infrastructure Finance.

 In this role you will:

• Support the team in delivering business targets by assisting with the origination and execution of transactions.
• Perform financial modelling and conduct financial and credit analysis on transactions and related opportunities.
• Produce sector and market research and summaries for clients and internal stakeholders, and prepare marketing materials.
• Support internal approval processes by preparing business and credit papers as part of capital allocation and credit processes.
• Engage with internal—and, where relevant, external—stakeholders throughout transaction origination and execution.
• Work closely with internal functions (e.g., Credit, Compliance) and product partners to maximise product penetration.
• Develop a strong understanding of HSBC’s policy and process requirements.
• Collaborate openly and effectively within the team and across the bank, particularly with Product and Relationship Management partners.
• Demonstrate an appropriate balance of proactiveness and seeking guidance for day-to-day work.
• Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, and procedures, with a focus on Global Standards (including Conduct, AML, and Sanctions) applicable to the jobholder’s business area.

To be successful you will need:

• 2–3 years’ experience in debt advisory, structured finance, project finance, ratings advisory, and/or other lending products, alongside a strong understanding of financial markets.
• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; a master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, MBA) is desirable.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including proficiency in financial modelling (operating models, accounting, debt facilities, credit metrics, and valuation analysis).
• High levels of motivation and a strong work ethic, underpinned by interest in and passion for the sector.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and market data services (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Factiva, Datastream).
• Strong financial modelling skills, including cashflow modelling; VBA skills are an advantage.
• Ability to model a broad range of debt products (e.g., term loans, RCFs, bonds, inflation-linked debt, and derivatives).
• Strong understanding of core credit analysis (e.g., financial covenants, rating agency methodologies, and credit metrics) and ability to model valuation metrics (e.g., IRR, FCFE, DCF, and comparables).
• Strong understanding of financial markets, including HSBC Group and product capabilities.
• General knowledge of the APAC market, including key players, trends, and the regulatory landscape.
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and communicate complex information clearly and succinctly.
• Ability to review, understand, and summarise due diligence (e.g., commercial, environmental, insurance) and the underlying legal documentation for loan facilities.
• Understanding of security principles, with the ability to support negotiation and development of appropriate financial structures across sectors.
