Job Description

Under the overall direction of the Lead, Manager or Director level position in Commercial Operations, the Analyst II, Market and Business Intelligence,develops Business Development performance and analysis reports, as well as gathers/analyses internal and external data to support the Business Development team's strategies and execution of business plans. This opportunity is based out of our Greater Houston Global Headquarters office that requires a minimum of 3 on-site work days.

What You Will Do:

  • Support Business Units use of Dynamics 365, including Licensing, Training & Materials, Walkme / D&B / LinkedIn Sales Navigator connections, and data quality/maintenance.
  • Support Business Development Account Managers with Customer Analysis, Account Management, Chase list development, and data gathering/analysis to support client discussions.
  • Develop, maintain, and assist other teams with Power Platforms (Power BI (Business Intelligence), Power App, Power Automate), Dataverse, and AI workflows.
  • Develop, maintain, and assist other teams with Python and SQL (Structured Query Language).
  • Support and lead departmental projects as the project manager.
  • Maintain and administer internal data sources such as the data warehouse cubes (BD, CommOps, PA cube), shared Excel workbooks, and Azure SQL Server.
  • Maintain and administer external data sources such as Clarkson's, IHS, AXS, Kpler, and VesslsValue, including API calls.
  • Administer Business Development SharePoint sites.
  • Maintain Business Development Distribution Lists
  • Develop strategies for the Global Business Development department including Annual Business Plans and Sales Targets, Product Commercialization Plans, Market analysis & research, Competitor analysis, Industry trends and forecasting.
  • Idealizing, Validating, Document, and Building of business financial models based on internal and external data to support business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools for the Global Business Development department, including Sales target, sales actuals, Sales Forecasting, and Win/Loss Analysis.
  • Develop and Host Monthly Business Development Calls
  • Assist with Audit preparations.
  • Gather and analyze Historical P/L for fleets and produce lifecycle profitability map.
  • Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams to facilitate projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and assist other teams with Data Science-based solutions (prediction, cluster, LLMs).

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or an engineering technical field is required
  • Non-degreed professionals may be considered pending level of experience and business requirements
  • An MBA or an engineering postgraduate degree is preferred but not required.
  • 2-4 years of previous related experience preferred.
  • Experience in the marine, offshore, or industrial fields is preferred.
  • Programming experience in R/Python and statistical analysis is desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Platforms, including Power Platforms, Dynamics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Highly proficient in PC skills, including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint.
  • Clarity and conciseness in oral and written communications; demonstrated capability to produce effective presentations for delivery to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to achieve process changes and departmental goals within a matrixed organization; ability to communicate and work well with others at various levels of the corporation.
  • Strategic, while also able to perform tactical duties.
  • Attentive to details.
  • Ability to manage highly confidential material.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to the Lead, Manager, or Director Level Position in Commercial Operations. This position has no direct reports.
