Purpose of the Job

Responsible for supporting the implementation of Human Resource Planning, Performance and Rewards strategies for employees and the bank as a whole, such as compensation & benefit, personnel expense management, and performance evaluation. Also, responsible for delivering relevant HR policies and processes to ensure smooth implementation of Human Resources policies as directed by Management.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the development of recommendations for continuous improvement and support any departmental project and initiatives implementation.
  • Work in partnership with HR colleagues to support with implementation of global and regional Reward policies and processes in the Branch as well as key HR processes to drive market relevant, cost effective and compliant practices.
  • Support the delivery of local reward initiatives within the Branch on time, within budget and aligned with local regulations.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement by creating efficiencies, technology initiatives and reducing complexities (priority on the internal HR processes), where possible, and more proactive in driving discussion with related stakeholders in the branch/regional to streamline the process out without jeopardizing compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Practice budget discipline and manage cost while ensuring the realization is within the approve budget (car, stationary, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally.
  • Work in partnership with various external parties including but not limited to benefit survey providers to seek guidance on benefit benchmarking.
  • Work in partnership with other members on planning, performance and rewards issues.
  • Work in partnership with other units within the department in completion of all HRD assignments, such as global mobility, recruitment and HRIS development.

General Requirement

WORK EXPERIENCE
• Experience executing compensation programs in a large organization


FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
• Basic understanding of the financial services regulatory environment is preferred
• Basic experience gathering compensation-related market and competitive intelligence
• Familiarity with interpretation and analysis of compensation and labor market data in order to assess: comparable worth; benchmarking; internal alignment; external competitiveness
• Knowledge of compensation philosophies (lead; lag; match; lead-lag)
• Familiarity with deferred compensation programs
• Understanding of pay practices and issues: pay increases; base pay; pay levels; variable pay; pay compression; pay equity; pay transparency; market data
• Familiarity with tracking metrics and benchmarks
• Proficient with MS Office including Excel, and PowerPoint
