Job Description

Analyst HRIS Functional-(260001HT)

The HRIS Functional Analyst is responsible for supporting and optimizing HR business processes, systems and reporting. This role will analyze current processes, identify gaps, recommend improvements, and collaborate with HR and IT teams to enhance system efficiencies, automation, and data accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead HR process analysis by identifying gaps, researching best practices, and recommending improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Maintain, support, and enhance PeopleSoft HR modules (Compensation, Benefits, Absence Management, etc) and ensure seamless integration with other HR systems.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system updates, enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Partner with IT to analyze and brainstorm automation solutions and implement system enhancements.
  • Train HR staff on system enhancements, new processes, and best practices to ensure successful adoption of process improvements.
  • Ensure all HR processes and procedures are properly documented, mapped, and maintained through job aids, SOPs, and workflow charts.
  • Support HR transactions, including leaves, absence/substitute management, compensation, benefits, and employee records.
  • Oversee annual HR processes such as School Year Renewal processing, summer hours processing, leave entitlements, and employee work calendars.
  • Maintain HR data integrity by conducting regular audits and reconciliation of HR records, reports, and system transactions.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of total payable days, teacher service records, and creditable years of service by validating employee workdays, leaves and absence data for HR state submissions.
  • Ensure state reporting compliance by coordinating with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to validate and submit accurate data.
  • Develop and generate HR reports and data extracts to support decision-making and compliance.
  • Analyze HR data trends, track key performance indicators, and present recommendations for improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain core table setups, system configurations, and regular HRIS updates to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • May require extended work hours to meet project deadlines or critical reporting periods.
  • Collaborate with IT and external vendors for system enhancements and troubleshooting.

  • Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with HRIS platforms (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday, SAP, Oracle); PeopleSoft experience preferred
  • Experience configuring HCM systems and supporting HR functional areas such as Compensation, Benefits, and Absence Management
  • Experience with process mapping and process redesign to improve efficiency and data accuracy
  • Experience with TSDS PEIMS files submissions and Skyward extracts preferred
  • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate and SharePoint preferred
  • Experience with SQL for data queries and reporting is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), with strong Excel and data organization skills (lookups, pivots, chart, etc).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to organize and interpret data from multiple sources and recommend actionable insights
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and support HR and cross-functional teams with limited supervision

Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. This position may require travel to various campuses, district meeting sites and to conferences/meetings in and out of state. This position may require the employee to work some evenings and weekends.
