Job Description


The Analyst, HRIS (Data Analytics & Reporting) serves as the primary technical and analytical point-of-contact for HR data integrity, report writing, and workforce analytics. This role focuses on transforming raw HR data into actionable business intelligence, managing recurring and ad hoc reporting requests, and analyzing data flows to improve HR processes. The Analyst ensures absolute confidentiality and safeguards sensitive employee data at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Analytics & Advanced Reporting
● Develops, monitors, and executes complex "ad hoc" and ongoing data requests, ensuring that all dashboards and reports directly meet business intelligence needs.
● Uses analytical expertise and best practices to design and suggest new workforce reports, tracking trends that provide critical insights to HR and leadership.
● Assures the absolute accuracy, cleanliness, and integrity of all reported data extracted from internal HRIS systems.
● Records, tracks, and securely stores core HR metrics, including attendance, turnover, hiring, and employee performance data.
● Audits HR processes and documents (including payroll administration, staff turnover, and lifecycle metrics) to uncover trends and data anomalies.
HRIS Effectiveness & System Optimization
● Maintains HR databases, analyzes large data sets, ensures overall data integrity, and writes efficient system queries.
● Optimizes HRIS processes, assists with system upgrades, integrates new software, and performs routine diagnostic tests to ensure system health.
● Analyzes system performance metrics and collaborates with stakeholders to resolve technical application issues.
● Creates user accounts, manages role-based access, and securely updates employee records.
● Tracks and implements technological advancements specifically related to data analytics and reporting in the HRIS field.
Integrations & Compliance Support
● Troubleshoots and monitors weekly file transfers and data integrations to external vendors, including VOE, unemployment, and benefits providers.
● Escalates complex integration issues to the System Administrator when necessary.
● Assists with critical year-end data updates, compliance reporting, and annual ACA reporting Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Foundational HRIS Knowledge: Basic HR processes (e.g., hiring, termination, benefits), specific HRIS module functionality (e.g., core HR, payroll), system security protocols.
● System Administration: Data entry/integrity, basic configuration (e.g., job codes). Focus is on system stability and data accuracy (keeping the lights on)/HR Tech/System Focus (Configuration & Data)
● Attention to Detail, Time Management, Written Communication - Ensuring data integrity; following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); documenting configuration changes. Writing precise tickets, documentation,
and query results. The goal is clarity and accuracy.
● Reporting/Querying: Standard reports, beginner Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
● Problem-Solving: Tier 1/2 troubleshooting, attention to detail. Focus is on Tactical Problem Diagnosis (the "how-to-fix-it" now).
Minimum Job Qualifications:
● Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Human Resources, or a related field, and 1–3 years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in data-handling software, particularly MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, data modeling), Word, and Google Suite.
● HRM Systems: Hands-on experience with core HRM platforms, such as UKG HCM.
● Data Analytics Experience: Proven experience running system queries, performing data audits, documenting reporting processes, and tracking HR metrics.
● HR Knowledge: Solid foundational knowledge of HR principles, practices, and overall lifecycle systems.
● Commitment to continuous training to stay abreast of shifting trends in the Information Systems and data analytics profession.
