A Capacity Planneris responsible forensuring that a transportation network has sufficient transportation capacity to meet customer and internal demand

This role typically involves analyzing data on transportation volumes,identifyingtrends and patterns,setup the routing guide in OTM and SAP,and developing strategies tooptimizecapacity utilization.
A Capacity Planner works closely with other teams, such asProcurement, Operations,Logistics, andSupply chain management, to ensure that transportation capacity is aligned with business needs.

Mainresponsibilities

  • Manage carrier allocation and capacity across Kraft Heinz's network, ensuring seamless alignment with customer demand and internal requirements.

  • Foster collaborative relationships with carriers through negotiations, ensuring contracted capacity and shipment commitments are consistently met across all lanes.

  • Conduct weekly rate analyses and mode optimization reports,identifyingand addressing lanes with excessive costs, and prioritizing intermodal movements to drive efficiency within intra-Kraft Heinz shipments

  • Secure and negotiate spot rates with carriers for special projects, ensuringtimelyand cost-effective solutions.

  • Carrierselectionand onboarding processes through RFP initiatives, aimed at optimizing carrier networks and reducing costs across all lanes. Annual Bid and Mini Bids.

  • IdentifyGaps in transportation capacity andinitiateaccuratemeasures with the Transportation Capacity Planning team.

  • Daily interaction with off-site carriers and on-site carrier partners to resolve service and capacity issueswith critical issues to management as needed.

  • Identifyopportunities across Transportation network & activities to enable service & cost improvement

  • Troubleshoot orders from a capacity planning standpoint, checking that OTM is properly set up so the TOC can plan the orders.

Transportation-Related Skills:

  • Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with carriers,logisticsproviders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiation skills:Experience withnegotiating contracts and rates with carriers andlogisticsproviders.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze and resolve transportation-related issues, such as service disruptions or capacity constraints.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills to analyze transportation data andidentifytrends and areas for improvement.

Transportation-Specific Requirements:

  • Transportation industry knowledge:Familiarity with the transportation industry, including carrier operations, regulations, and market trends.
  • Transportation modes:Understanding ofdifferent transportation modes, including truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, air, and ocean freight.(Air and Oceanpreferablybut not mandatory)
  • Carrier management:Experience with carrier management, including carrier selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Transportation management systems (TMS):Familiarity with TMS software, such as Manhattan Associates, JDA, or Oracle Transportation Management.
  • Load planning and optimization:Knowledge of load planning and optimization techniques, including load consolidation, route optimization, and capacity utilization
  • Transportation data analysis:Ability to analyze transportation data, including transit times, on-time performance, and freight costs.
  • Freight audit and payment:Understanding offreight audit and payment processes, including freight bill auditing and payment processing.

Transportation-Related Tools and Technologies:

  • Transportation management systems (TMS):Proficiencyin TMS software,such asOracle Transportation Management.
  • Data analytics tools:Experience with data analytics tools, such as Tableau orPower BI to analyze transportation data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • 2+ yearsof Transportation & Logistics experience, ideally in FMCG / food & beverage / CPG, with increasing scope and ownership

  • Strong knowledge of transportation execution and upstream/downstream dependencies (planning, customer/service impacts, warehouse interfaces)

  • Proficiencyin transportation systems and visibility tools (TMS, OTM, SAP, 4Kites), with the ability to troubleshoot data/process issues across ERP/TMS/WMSflows

  • Demonstrated ability tocreatecontinuous improvement and operational excellence using data (e.g., root cause analysis, KPI tracking, standard work), with clear examples of cost, service, or productivity impact

  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, including influencing business partners and driving alignment across carriers, customer groups, and internal teams

  • C1 English level
