The Functional HRIS Analyst supports and administers Leave of Absence (LOA) systems, with a primary focus on AbsenceSoft. This role is responsible for system configuration, case management workflows, reporting, security access, and data integrity related to employee leave programs. The analyst partners with HR, Benefits, Payroll, and Compliance teams to ensure accurate and efficient LOA processing while maintaining alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Working under guidance, the analyst gathers requirements, supports system enhancements, participates in release management activities, troubleshoots issues, and delivers reporting and insights that improve absence management operations. The role contributes to system optimization initiatives from intake through implementation and supports the ongoing evolution and consolidation of LOA technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support AbsenceSoft, including configuration of leave types, workflows, and business rules.
  • Control user roles, permissions, and system access to ensure appropriate security, compliance, and segregation of duties.
  • Partner with HR, Benefits, and Payroll to support end to end LOA processes (FMLA, ADA, state leaves, company leaves).
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with vendors or internal teams.
  • Maintain data accuracy and integrity across LOA systems and downstream integrations (HRIS, payroll, benefits).
  • Develop and manage reports, dashboards, and audits related to leave activity, compliance, and operational metrics.
  • Support system updates, releases, and enhancements, including reviewing release notes, assessing business impact and release testing activities / coordination of UAT.
  • Document business processes, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support and maintain legacy LOA systems and vendors, ensuring data accessibility, case management continuity, and alignment with future state data strategies.

Experience Profile

  • Functional Analyst or HRIS Analyst, 5+ years.
  • Leave Administration experience preferred (4 to 6 years).
  • Experience supporting AbsenceSoft or similar LOA case management systems strongly preferred.· Experience supporting system security, release processes, and vendor platforms preferred.

  • Project & Systems Support Demonstrates working knowledge of system implementation and enhancement processes. Supports testing, issue tracking, release coordination, and configuration changes under guidance.
  • HR Technology & Troubleshooting Develops proficiency in HRIS and LOA systems, including AbsenceSoft and legacy platforms. Applies structured troubleshooting approaches to resolve system, access, and data issues.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance, and user experience through system enhancements and future state improvements.
  • Communication Communicates effectively with HR, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders. Provides clear updates, documentation, and release impact summaries.
  • Collaboration & Professionalism Works effectively across HR, Benefits, Payroll, and external vendors. Maintains a reliable and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Execution & Time Management Manages workload across operational support, releases, projects, and reporting.
  • Business & Systems Acumen Understands Compass Group HR and LOA processes, operational needs, and system landscape, including current and evolving platforms. Applies this knowledge to support LOA administration and system effectiveness.
