Purpose: To execute relevant tasks required in thedevelopment and enhancementin the use of the business integrated system application i.e. Oracle andincorporate the various business processes to enhance efficiency andcontrol. This will involve managing implementation of projects frombeginning to end and ensure training of application users to achieveeffective use of the system as well as maintaining and controlling Financial SystemsMasterdata andresolvingfunctionalsupportissues.

  • Enhancetheuseofthefinancialsystemsusedbythebusinessbycriticallyevaluatingtheircurrentusageversusthebusinessrequirementsfortransactionprocessing,controlandreporting.
  • EstablishrequiredintegrationsfromothersystemsintoFinancialSystemsand then draw up a list of possible processes to be integrated into theapplicationtominimizemanualprocessing.

  • Establish functionalities available in Financial Systems that are not yet inuseandthendrawuplistoffunctionalitiesthatcouldbeactivatedforusebythebusinesstoincreaseefficiencyandcontrol.

  • Resolve functionalities that have had problems in the past and that haveaffected key control account financial balances and provide correctiveactiongoingforwardthroughdetaileddataanalysis

  • Complete thepreparationofdetailedstepbystepimplementationprocessesforeachoftheagreedprojectsagreedontheannualprogramforimprovementsrequiredforthefinancialsystems.

  • ParticipateinregulartrainingsforstaffduringtheimplementationofthevariousimprovementstoFinancialSystemsinliaisonwithHRtraining.

  • Implementagreed proceduresto ensure the timelycomparisonandreconciliationofinformationreceivedfromvarioussystemsthatisusedinfinancialreportingtoensurestrictfinancialreportingdeadlinesaremet

  • DevelopandimplementasystematicprocessforcapturingallFinancialSystemsAccountingproblemsandtimelyresolutionofthesameinliaison withtheTechnologydepartmentand/orapplicationproviders

  • Liaise between the users and the IT department or Financial SystemsproviderintheresolutionofissuesarisingandensuretimelyresolutionofproblemswithintheagreedSLA.

  • AutomatethegenerationofthestatutoryAccountsstatementsbyintegratingintothefinancialSystems

  • ManagementofFinancialSystemsMasterdata.Thisincludesallkeysetups

  • i.e.Suppliers,SupplierBankdetails,ItemMastersandkeyfinancialcontrolson Financial Systems as well as User Access management to financialSystems
  • Prepareadetailedimplementationprocessplanforeachoftheagreedprojectsontheannualprogramandwithinthestipulateddates
  • Deliver automation of Financial & Business processes as per agreedprojectplans

  • Investigatetheflowoftransactionsbetweenfinancial systems/applications to identify sources of differences and resolveintegrationissueswithinagreedSLAs

  • SetupapprovedanddocumentedSLAswithtechnologyforresolutionofvariousissuesraisedaroundfinancialsystems.

  • MaintainMasterdatamanagementandsetupcontrolswithinSLAsagreed

  • Noauditissueson masterdata anduseraccess

  • Providedetailedreportingandanalysisforusersacrossthebusinessandexternalauditorsasrequired

  • ResolvefunctionaluserissuesraisedandensureallSLA’sdefinedaremet

  • MaintainUptodate definitionof FinancialSystemprocesses and controlsacrossthebusiness

  • Trackandrecordtheperformanceofthestafftrainedagainsttheactivatedsystemcapacitytomeasureeffectiveuse.
  • Qualified Accountant CPA /ACCA/CIMA/ACA with an honors degree from a recognized university;
  • 3-5 years accounting experience in an international company or international audit firm
  • 3-5 years’ experience in managing Financial Systems specifically ERPs
  • Demonstrate proficiency in project management skills and competencies
  • Ability to critically analyze processes and systems for enhancement of efficiency and performance
  • Thorough understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards and experience in application and enforcement of the standards at the workplace.
    Experience in preparation and supervision of basic accounting ledger entries and extraction of the Trial Balance and financial statements
  • Preparation of periodic statutory accounts
  • Direct involvement in corporate reporting for financial and management information
  • Submission of accurate, timely and relevant information for statutory and Internal audit purposes
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and ability to monitor and explain trends and variances
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to relate well with both internal and external customers and work in teams
  • Leadership skills and ability to train others and enhance their skills and competencies
