Purpose
To maintain and manage pricing and cost data using advanced Excel skills, enabling timely, accurate reporting and supporting pricing strategies. To prepare and update cost models, reconcile datasets, and provide clean inputs for financial analysis and pricing decisions.
Responsibilities
Data Entry & Maintenance: Accurately enter, validate, and update large volumes of pricing, cost, and vendor data in Excel and internal systems.
Excel Modeling & Templates: Build and maintain standardized Excel templates, lookup tables, and pivot-ready datasets for costing and pricing teams.
Reconciliation & Quality Control: Reconcile source files against master records; identify and correct discrepancies; document data issues and resolutions.
Reporting & Dashboards: Produce routine and ad-hoc Excel reports and dashboards (pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting) to track pricing performance and cost drivers.
Data Preparation for Analysis: Cleanse and transform raw data for use by analysts and finance; apply formulas, named ranges, and data validation to ensure consistency.
Process Improvement: Suggest and implement Excel-based automation (macros, formulas, Power Query) to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Collaboration: Work with finance, procurement, and pricing teams to gather source data, clarify requirements, and support month-end and project-based tasks.
Skills
Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, advanced formulas).
Data entry accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Experience with Excel automation (macros/VBA) and Power Query preferred.
Basic data analysis and reporting skills.
Familiarity with financial or pricing data is an asset.
Strong communication and ability to document processes.
Problem-solving mindset and ability to follow established procedures.
Certifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience
2+ years of experience in data entry, Excel-heavy reporting, or finance support roles.
