What you'll do:
In the capacity of an Analyst, Compliance Monitoring based in Kuala Lumpur, you will engage in a multifaceted role requiring vigilance, precision, and exemplary interpersonal skills. Your principal focus will be on safeguarding the organisation’s reputation by ensuring unwavering adherence to regulatory frameworks at every level. You will be responsible for executing detailed monitoring exercises across multiple business units, identifying opportunities for enhancement, facilitating targeted training programmes for staff members, disseminating critical updates regarding regulatory changes, maintaining comprehensive records of applicable laws, reviewing internal policies for ongoing relevance, advising colleagues on complex compliance queries, proactively managing potential conflicts of interest, tracking outstanding issues until their resolution is achieved, validating corrective actions undertaken by teams throughout the business, and preparing timely reports for senior management. Success in this position is predicated upon your ability to collaborate harmoniously with colleagues from diverse backgrounds whilst maintaining scrupulous attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
Undertake regular compliance monitoring activities to ensure that all business procedures and operational processes are fully aligned with external laws, regulations, and internal compliance standards, reporting findings promptly to relevant offices.
Conduct comprehensive market conduct monitoring including communications review and trade surveillance to identify any irregularities or potential breaches.
Facilitate regional and local compliance training assignments by coordinating sessions, tracking participation, and submitting detailed completion reports to management and relevant offices.
Disseminate essential compliance materials and news updates while providing educational support and training to employees across various departments.
Collect, maintain, and regularly update records of laws and regulations pertinent to the organisation’s business activities; perform gap analyses and implement necessary actions for full compliance.
Establish, review, and maintain policies and procedures that ensure alignment with both parent bank requirements and external regulatory obligations.
Provide advisory services on compliance matters to source departments, ensuring clarity on parent bank expectations as well as local legal requirements.
Monitor for potential conflicts such as personal account dealings or outside business interests by conducting thorough checks and escalating issues when necessary.
Track open compliance issues diligently to guarantee timely resolution and closure in accordance with established protocols.
Validate corrective action plans related to compliance matters by updating status reports within internal systems and preparing accurate management reports within set deadlines.

Hold a recognised degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Law or an equivalent discipline from an accredited university or higher learning institution.
Demonstrate at least two to three years of experience within the banking sector with particular emphasis on compliance or legal functions.
Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the banking regulatory landscape including familiarity with industry trends, products, relevant laws, and evolving regulations.
Display excellent communication skills enabling you to influence others positively whilst building rapport with both internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
Showcase advanced stakeholder management abilities allowing you to collaborate seamlessly with multiple departments across the organisation.
Present outstanding written and verbal communication skills essential for effective interaction with employees as well as clients or customers from diverse backgrounds.
Preference will be accorded if you are able to communicate fluently in Chinese (Mandarin), particularly for audio monitoring tasks.
