Opportunity

Join a dynamic Maple 8 Canadian institutional asset manager with $200 billion of assets under management to contribute to a prosperous future for all Albertans. We are seeking a new team member to join our Client Management team as Analyst, Client Management, in Edmonton, Alberta.

You will partner closely with internal stakeholders across AIMCo to provide consultation, advice and thought-leadership research to our 16 diverse client groups. To support client decision making, you will also build trusted relationships with external partners and client consultant teams to deliver value-add information and analysis. Through supporting and participating in presentations, meetings, and client education events, you will assist in sharing information on a regular basis with our client groups and also respond to ad-hoc requests. Quarterly, you will be asked to support the delivery of client investment reviews, in conjunction with subject matter experts from across AIMCo.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining a one-AIMCo approach with all 16 clients and supporting their interactions across the organization

  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of quarterly client investment reviews

  • Being the support to the Client relationship lead on client and client consultant inquiries

  • Contributing to AIMCo’s efforts to consult with and providing clients guidance in their investment decision process, and communicating relevant feedback on client’s specific needs to the organization

  • Reviewing client investment policy processes and leading their implementation as part of a team-based approach

  • Working with various resources (people and technology) to provide value-add solutions to strengthen relationships and deliver elevated support to clients

  • Participating in and promoting client education programs such as investment symposiums and client education sessions

  • Demonstrating a commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspiring the same in others

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, actuarial sciences or another related field

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or a CFA designation (or willingness to pursue) is advantageous, but not required

  • 0 to 2+ years of progressive experience working in client relationship management, investment or actuarial consulting, or plan management and administration within the Pension, Institutional Investment or Investment Banking sectors ( this position is open to recent university graduates)

  • Familiarity with SQL, VBA, PowerBi, and Microsoft Office product suite would be a strong asset

  • Maintains awareness of industry best practices and emerging trends

  • Sets the bar for best-in-class client relationship management and inspires other to do the same

  • Challenges the status quo and identifies operational efficiencies and improvements to better serve client

  • Forges relationships based on trust, collaboration and service with internal and external partners, clients and third-party consultants

  • Possesses refined written and verbal communication abilities; ability to convey complex topics to a variety of audiences

  • Motivated to operate at the trusted-advisor status

  • Thrives under pressure and when face with competing deadlines

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others

Success Measures:

Success in this position will be measured by your commitment to achieving trusted advisor status with clients and client consultants alike. You will also anticipate client needs and recommend solutions, elevating the overall service experience.
