Analog Design Engineer Success Profile: Success Factors & Descriptions

Circuit Design, Analysis & Execution

Designs, and implements analog, analog-mixed signal & integrated circuits (ICs) that enable new TI products and customer solutions.

Leads IP and chip architecture, schematic design & simulation (pre- and post-layout) basis the specification requirements.

Applies deep understanding of analog fundamentals, process technologies, and circuit design techniques.

Delivers robust, innovative, and efficient designs aligning with customer needs.

Meets project milestones while adapting to changing requirements.

Develops and executes experiments to debug and improve designs.

Able to understand & use relevant software tools (MATLAB, Cadence, etc.) for drawing schematics, simulations, data processing, Modeling etc.

Understands and applies the concepts of feedback loops, design reliability, stability analysis, and debug analysis

Demonstrates a high sense of ownership on design decisions & accountability while executing technical developments.

Understands and applies TI’s NPDE Methodology; Proactively identifies and addresses risks in design & execution

Strives to improve execution efficiency using automation

Circuit Design, Analysis & Execution

• Deepen technical expertise by leading the design and simulation of a new type of analog IP block or circuit, progressing from schematic through post-layout validation.

• Seek and integrate feedback from a senior designer or mentor on design approach, simulation methodology, and results interpretation.

• Enroll in (or complete) advanced coursework or internal training on data processing, modeling, or new simulation tools.

• Lead a root-cause analysis for a failed lab or silicon debug, document & share learnings

• Build proficiency in modeling and data analysis by working on real design datasets.

• Take initiative in a root cause analysis of a complex silicon or system-level failure, documenting lessons learned and sharing them with the broader team.

Innovation, Problem Solving & Continuous learning

• Work directly with a system, product or applications engineer to better understand customer requirements, and map at least one design decision to a specific end-user or market need

• Regularly review recent technical literature and patents related to analog/mixed-signal design.

• Propose process, topology and, methodology improvements and pilot it in a project.

• Volunteer to present a “tech talk” or lead a brainstorming session on emerging architectures.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Develop and deliver a clear technical report or presentation summarizing your project’s impact for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Lead or actively participate in a cross-functional design review (with layout, test, and verification teams), focusing on surfacing and resolving at least one major interdisciplinary issue.

• Practice and strengthen communication by presenting a design challenge and solution to both technical and non-technical audiences, seeking feedback on clarity and impact.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
