Join Our Engineering Team as an HVAC Technician at the First Vignette Collection in KSA!

We are looking for a skilled, professional, and experienced HVAC Technician to join the Engineering team at the First Vignette Collection in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Carlton Al Moaibed Hotel).

The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems throughout the hotel while ensuring high standards of safety, efficiency, and guest comfort.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning and ventilation equipment.
  • Maintain and repair split AC units, package units, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans, and ventilation systems.
  • Check compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, thermostats, sensors, and other HVAC components.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration faults in HVAC equipment.
  • Check refrigerant levels, pressure, temperature, and overall system performance.
  • Perform refrigerant charging, recovery, and leak detection when required.
  • Clean and maintain filters, coils, drain pans, air vents, and other HVAC components.
  • Check and maintain condensate drainage systems to prevent water leakage and damage.
  • Respond to guest room and hotel maintenance requests related to air conditioning and temperature control.
  • Carry out emergency repairs and attend HVAC breakdowns as required.
  • Ensure all HVAC equipment operates safely and efficiently according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, offices, back-of-house areas, and other hotel facilities.
  • Record all maintenance activities, faults, repairs, and equipment conditions.
  • Follow the preventive maintenance schedule and complete assigned tasks on time.
  • Monitor the condition of HVAC equipment and report major faults or replacement requirements to the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer.
  • Maintain proper stock levels of HVAC spare parts, tools, and materials and report shortages when required.
  • Use HVAC testing and diagnostic equipment correctly and safely.
  • Maintain the HVAC workshop, tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Follow all hotel engineering procedures, health & safety requirements, and environmental standards.
  • Support the Engineering team with other maintenance activities when required.
  • Assist with energy-saving initiatives and ensure HVAC systems operate efficiently.
  • Coordinate with other departments to complete maintenance work with minimum disruption to hotel operations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and wear the hotel uniform correctly at all times.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Chief Engineer, Engineering Supervisor, or Engineering Management.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an HVAC Technician or in a similar technical position is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a hotel, commercial building, or facilities management environment is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of HVAC, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
  • Good knowledge of split AC, package units, AHU, FCU, exhaust fans, and ventilation systems.
  • Good knowledge of compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, thermostats, sensors, and refrigerant systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration faults.
  • Knowledge of refrigerant charging, recovery, and leak detection.
  • Ability to use HVAC tools and testing equipment, including pressure gauges, multimeters, thermometers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Good knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems related to HVAC equipment.
  • Good knowledge of HVAC safety procedures and safe handling of refrigerants.
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings, equipment manuals, and HVAC diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality maintenance.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hotel environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency maintenance requests.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and confined areas and stand for long periods.
  • Basic English communication skills are preferred.
  • Technical diploma, vocational certificate, or relevant HVAC qualification is an advantage.
