Toledo Ice Cream has immediate job openings for skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Techs, responsible for ensuring the continued operation of machinery and ammonia refrigeration equipment in an electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic capacity by completing planned and unplanned maintenance requirements.

OUR AMMONIA REFRIGERATION MAINTENANCE TECHS MAKE:

  • Up to $47.65 / hour for Senior Level Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Tech, based on qualifications (will be determined at interview)
    • Additional $0.50/hr shift differential

SHIFT SCHEDULE: All shifts, 5 days/week (8-10hrs/day)

Some weekends and on-call required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. CARO/CIRO or equivalent certifications is a plus.
  • Minimum 1 year of industrial refrigeration experience with ammonia or combination of experience and trade school.
  • Minimum one year experience in an industrial maintenance role, preferably food and beverage industry.
  • Minimum one year experience with one or more technical experiences: Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer-controlled equipment, PLC and/or HVAC.
  • Able to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment down time.
  • Able to perform maintenance activities/repairs independently and assist on more complicated repairs.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations related to ammonia refrigeration.
  • Able to present options and ideas to current processes or procedures.
  • Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Must be able to handle basic hand tools.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel and bend required for virtually the entire shift; occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to work in a cold, wet environment with moderate to high noise volume.
  • May experience some exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals or allergens.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks
