A dynamic and expanding financial institution, regulated by the MFSA and based in Malta, is urgently seeking an AML/CFT Officer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the KYC onboarding process and ensuring that the company operates in full alignment with Maltese Laws.
This is an office-based role offering a salary of up to €40K, depending on experience.
Role & Responsibilities
Carry out KYC onboarding reviews, including customer identification, verification, and risk assessments
Review company structures, ownership, and source of funds/wealth
Review KYC files to ensure they meet regulatory and internal requirements
Keep abreast of changes in AML/CFT legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
Monitor transactions and perform pre-transaction checks to identify suspicious activity
Monitor customer transactions and activities to identify unusual or suspicious behaviour
Conduct pre-transaction checks, where required, to flag potential risks before processing
Perform quarterly post-transaction investigations to identify any unusual activity after the fact
Education, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
2+ years of experience in AML/CFT, compliance risk, or financial crime within a regulated environment in Malta
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Strong understanding of AML/CFT regulations
Proven analytical and investigative skills with a keen eye for detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
