AML Internal Auditor (Senior Consultant & Manager Levels)
Hourly Rate:
Senior consultant: $65-$75/hr
Manager$75-$85/hr

Contract Duration
12-Month Contract (Potential Extension and/or Permanent Conversion)

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services sector, is seeking experienced AML Internal Auditors to support a large-scale client engagement initiative. We are hiring multiple professionals at both the Senior Consultant and Manager levels to support enterprise AML and Financial Crimes audit activities within a banking environment.
This opportunity offers the chance to work on highly visible and impactful AML audit engagements while collaborating with experienced professionals in Financial Crimes, Compliance, and Internal Audit. The role can be fully remote from anywhere in Canada.

Responsibilities
Manager Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end execution of enterprise-level AML and Financial Crimes internal audit engagements using a risk-based approach
  • Assess operational processes, identify control gaps, and recommend risk mitigation enhancements
  • Execute independent assessments of AML compliance programs against regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Manage audit coordination, remediation validation, and regulatory findings follow-up activities
  • Support AML Internal Audit functions including control testing and remediation validation
  • Mentor and coach junior team members
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, audit teams, and compliance professionals
  • Support client engagements and regulatory-driven initiatives as required
Senior Consultant Responsibilities
  • Execute testing activities as part of Enterprise AML Program independent assessments
  • Conduct walkthroughs, test of design, and test of operating effectiveness activities
  • Identify key AML/ATF compliance issues and perform detailed analysis of findings
  • Support engagement managers with reporting activities and regulatory validation closure documentation
  • Maintain strong knowledge of AML regulations, controls, and industry best practices
  • Assist with audit documentation, reporting, and issue tracking
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Internal Audit experience within a banking environment (Third Line of Defense experience required)
  • 1+ years of AML experience or exposure within banking or financial services
  • Experience conducting AML audits as an Internal Auditor OR Internal Audit experience combined with AML Compliance exposure
  • Strong understanding of AML/Sanctions regulations including:
    • PCMLTFA/R
    • OSFI Guidelines
    • FINTRAC Requirements
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and report-writing skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
  • CAMS, CFCS, CIA, or similar certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or related field
  • Experience working within enterprise banking environments
  • Ability to work independently in remote team environments
