This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AML Compliance Analyst based in India.
This role offers the opportunity to join a global Financial Crimes team protecting customers, markets, and financial systems.
You will investigate potentially suspicious activity across AML, sanctions, anti-fraud, and securities surveillance programs.
The position combines detailed investigations with risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and continuous control improvement.
You will work across KYC, CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and regulatory reporting activities.
The role provides exposure to U.S. financial regulations, brokerage activity, digital assets, payment systems, and evolving financial crime typologies.
You will collaborate with globally distributed teams while supporting U.S.-based operations and regulatory requirements.

Accountabilities
- Investigate transaction monitoring alerts, referrals, escalations, and other potentially suspicious activities involving retail, institutional, and foreign financial customers.
- Conduct comprehensive CIP/KYC, CDD, and EDD reviews, including assessment of source of funds, source of wealth, occupation, expected activity, and customer purpose.
- Review individuals, entities, and transactions for potential matches against OFAC, global sanctions, PEP, enforcement, and adverse media watchlists.
- Review and disposition AML, sanctions, fraud, and securities-surveillance alerts from initial assessment through final resolution.
- Prepare accurate, concise, and defensible SAR recommendations and narratives and support the filing of approved reports with FinCEN.
- Respond to time-sensitive regulatory and law-enforcement requests, including FinCEN 314(a) and 314(b) requests and other regulatory inquiries.
- Ensure investigations, regulatory submissions, and alerts are completed within established deadlines and service-level requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive audit trails and documentation supporting investigation outcomes, alert dispositions, and compliance decisions.
- Identify emerging financial crime risks, unusual activity, compliance gaps, and trends, escalating material issues to management.
- Support enhancements to transaction monitoring rules, policies, procedures, controls, and risk frameworks.
- Partner with internal stakeholders during risk assessments, remediation initiatives, external audits, examinations, and regulatory engagements.
- Assist with due diligence and ongoing monitoring of introducing brokers, omnibus partners, correspondent relationships, and other financial intermediaries.
- Maintain current knowledge of financial crime typologies, trading behaviors, regulatory developments, and applicable U.S. compliance expectations.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and leverage technology or AI tools to increase investigation efficiency.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional experience in financial crime or AML investigations, particularly involving retail, institutional, or foreign financial firms.
- Strong understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements, including BSA/AML, the USA PATRIOT Act, and applicable SEC and FINRA regulations.
- Practical knowledge of financial crime typologies involving trading and market activity, including spoofing, layering, wash trading, front-running, insider trading, fraud, account takeover, and manipulative order behavior.
- Demonstrated ability to identify unusual activity, conduct thorough investigations, and document conclusions in a clear, concise, and audit-ready manner.
- Strong investigative writing skills, including experience preparing case narratives and SAR recommendations.
- Experience with transaction-monitoring, sanctions-screening, case-management, fraud-monitoring, or securities-surveillance systems.
- Experience conducting open-source intelligence research and evaluating public records, adverse media, corporate information, and other investigative sources.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international payment systems, with exposure to ACH, wire, brokerage transfers, ACATS, digital assets, or cross-border payments considered valuable.
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple investigations, priorities, and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and adapt effectively to rapidly changing business, technology, and regulatory environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams and communicate risk findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to maintain meaningful working-hour overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.
- Experience within the U.S. broker-dealer or correspondent clearing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with fintech, brokerage, transaction alerting platforms, or financial crime technology is advantageous.
- CAMS, CFCS, CFE, or another relevant AML, fraud, or financial crime certification is preferred.
