We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AMG Risk Analyst

Purpose of the role

The purpose of the AMG Risk Analyst role is to identify and manage current and emerging risks across financial and non-financial risk types. This includes preparing and reviewing risk reports on a regular basis, monitoring changes arising from internal drivers (new investment fund products, business initiatives, strategic data and systems alignment) and external drivers (client and regulatory requirements). The role-holder will brief senior management on material business risks and the adequacy of mitigation or remediation plans, ensure risk management policies and procedures are implemented.

In this role, you will be:

  • Produce and review multiple risk reports as required, with end-to-end ownership, ensuring accurate delivery within agreed timelines.
  • Develop a strong understanding of risk metrics generated from reporting, ask effective questions, and build domain knowledge over time.
  • Monitor emerging risks and assess the adequacy of mitigation and remediation plans, escalating issues proactively for resolution.
  • Maintain and update procedure documents to support operational resilience, continuity, and efficient handovers.
  • Understand the data model and tools used to produce reports, identifying enhancements, efficiencies, and opportunities to standardise processes.
  • Work with peers across local and global teams to develop best practices, streamline processes, and manage multiple upstream dependencies.
  • Brief senior management on the assessment of material business risks and provide clear, actionable insight for decision-making.
  • Train backups / support less senior colleagues, demonstrating curiosity to learn and build new capabilities while strengthening the team’s control environment.

To be successful you will be:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Knowledge of financial products (including derivatives) and the multiple risks associated with them, across both financial and non-financial risk types.
  • Strong data analysis, problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret metrics and identify key risk themes.
  • Strong knowledge of control design, control effectiveness, and operational risk frameworks and controls within an Institutional operating environment.
  • Familiarity with risk-modelling and toolsets such as R (or Matlab etc.), Python, and Tableau.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to build relationships across stakeholders, prioritise effectively, multi-task in a dynamic environment, and work to tight deadlines under pressure with close attention to detail.
