PRIMARY PURPOSE: To establish and execute the strategic direction of the Engineering Practice across multiple regions and countries, with full accountability for financial performance, revenue growth, profitability, resource utilization, and operational effectiveness. The role provides leadership in business planning, budgeting, forecasting, workforce development, succession planning, and market expansion while ensuring consistent technical excellence and delivery of high-value client solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct oversight and mentoring of VP's and Managing Principals

  • Oversee performance of major projects, programs, and practice metrics

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and technical protocols

  • Responsible for the oversight and performance of select ongoing and new projects accepted by EFI.

  • Responsible for the oversight of all program activities including training, reporting and related administrative duties.

  • Responsible for policy development and implementation.

  • Represents EFI in meetings and other forums with clients within government, public service, or private sector organizations.

  • Provides information and advice to the Senior Management on business issues, and financial implications of project work affecting EFI business financial results.

  • Coordinates regular Engineering Service Line meetings and other events.

  • Serves on committees, task forces, and other groups as necessary to advocate the goals and strategies of EFI’s mission.

Client & Market Engagement

  • Serve as senior client-facing leader and industry representative

  • Partner with Sales/Marketing to drive growth and client engagement

  • Represent EFI in external forums, strategic partnerships, and large client discussions

Collaboration & Governance

  • Coordinate cross-region and cross-discipline collaboration

  • Lead service line governance (meetings, initiatives, task forces)

  • Act as escalation point for complex technical, operational, or client issues

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).
  • Travels as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.

Education & Licensing

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university required. Advanced degree preferred. Must be certified and/or registered as a professional engineer in the designated field of expertise.

Experience

Twenty (20) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required with a minimum of 10 years management related experience.

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $250,000-$325,000 A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
