Focus Interpreting is seeking a skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our team in San Bernardino. This role is crucial in facilitating communication between the deaf and hearing communities in various professional settings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide high-quality ASL interpretation in varied environments such as educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and community programs.
• Communicate effectively by interpreting spoken language to ASL and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interpreting assignments.
• Engage with clients to understand their unique needs and adapt interpretation style accordingly.
• Stay current on interpreting techniques and participate in professional development opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong proficiency in English.
• Preferred certification or completion of a formal ASL interpreting program.
• Awareness of Deaf culture and community dynamics.
• Prior experience in diverse interpreting settings is an asset.
• Strong ability to perform in high-pressure situations while delivering accurate interpretations.
