POSITION SUMMARY
The American Councils for International Education – Belgrade Office is pleased to announce the opening of one six months long (April 1, 2026 – September 30, 2026) Community Engagement Fellowship position at the American Resource Center (ARC). The ARC is a new and dynamic American Space located at Ložionica, within the Belgrade Waterfront district in Belgrade, Serbia. As a flagship initiative supported by the U.S. Mission in Serbia, the ARC is a multi-purpose hub that serves as a key platform for educational, cultural, and professional exchange. Designed to foster mutual understanding and collaboration, the center offers a broad array of resources and programs, including:
- Workshops, classes, and lectures on diverse topics ranging from science and technology to arts and humanities
- Interactive exhibitions and educational outreach activities
- Music, video, and podcast production facilities, supporting creative and media projects
- Public events, including regional conferences, seminars, and training sessions, aimed at strengthening connections across sectors and borders
We are seeking a dynamic, versatile, and learning-oriented individual aged 18 to 25 to join us as a fellow at the ARC. Ideal candidate is enthusiastic about building stronger ties between the United States and Serbia through cultural innovation, with a focus on areas such as digital media, emerging technologies, and the creative industries. Community Engagement Fellow should be motivated, curious, and collaborative—ready to take initiative, contribute ideas, and help shape a vibrant space that promotes cultural exchange, innovation, and community engagement. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, grow professionally, within the ARC as a new cultural and educational hub in Belgrade.
The Fellow will be engaged on a six-month contract and compensated through the Youth Employment Office (Omladinska zajednica). The gross monthly stipend is $550 USD for 20 hours per week work schedule.
POSITION’S RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Engagement Fellow (Communications, Reel Storytelling, and Social Media)
The Community Engagement Fellow will take the lead in building and strengthening the ARC’s presence within the local community through creative storytelling, strategic communication, and digital outreach. This role is ideal for someone passionate about connecting people, crafting compelling narratives, and leveraging digital tools to amplify impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing ARC’s social media platforms by creating engaging, relevant, and visually appealing content to grow and sustain an active online community.
- Assisting in the production of compelling reel stories that showcase ARC’s programs, events, and community impact, using video and digital storytelling techniques.
- Drafting and distributing press releases, newsletters, and promotional materials to enhance public awareness of ARC activities and initiatives.
- Engaging with local stakeholders, artists, youth, and partners to foster relationships and promote collaborative opportunities aligned with ARC’s mission.
- Arranging physical space for various ARC programing (example: moving chairs, tables, TV, setting up technology for projects, podcast production, etc.)
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a creative mindset, digital media skills, and a genuine interest in cultural exchange and community building.

QualificationsKey qualifications for this fellowship:
- Excellent Serbian and English language speaking, writing and reading skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a talent for engaging diverse audiences.
- Solid understanding and practical knowledge of digital technologies, tools, and platforms.
- Awareness of and interest in contemporary global culture, including trends in media, technology, and the creative industries.
