Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the role of the Health & Safety Engineer is vital to the success of the organization, achieving company goals and driving initiatives that result in best-in-class health and safety performance (ISO 45001 & VPP facility). This role is a subject matter expert in safety programs and processes, supports in maintaining the Amerex Health & Safety program by auditing, implementing, and conducting training on site-level policies and procedures in accordance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements as established by governing bodies (OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, ANSI, etc.), as well as the Amerex Corporation and McWane Inc. standards. Additional duties include but are not limited to working closely with internal business partners to find effective and efficient solutions to health and safety issues, participating in injury and incident investigations, ISO/VPP auditing, and maintaining necessary documents pertaining to the health and safety program.

This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials and environmental changes (heat/cold). The employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics.
