Amelia Plantation Chapel (Amelia Island, FL) - Senior Pastor The Big Picture Amelia Plantation Chapel ( ameliachapel.com ) is seeking a Senior Pastor who is called by God to be the congregation’s spiritual leader and shepherd; a godly person, filled with the Holy Spirit, devoted to prayer, and wise in the character and ways of the Lord. The Church We are an active and vibrant unaffiliated interdenominational church of approximately 550 spiritually mature and conservative members. We enjoy two spiritually nourishing services each Sunday, along with livestreaming of the first service. The early worship service is a traditional one, with the Chancel Choir. The second service is a “Praise and Worship” service and is more informal with contemporary music led by a praise team. Both services benefit from our excellent music program. Our vision is “To develop mature Christian disciples who compassionately respond to the needs of others.” We are financially stable and able to devote a full 30 percent of our tithes and offerings to over 30 outreach ministries and Christian charities locally, nationally, and internationally. Requirements The Candidate This person must model a life of holiness and integrity, have a deep faith, and be passionately committed to ministering the Gospel with a heart to bring others to Jesus Christ, shepherd them to Christian maturity, and equip them for the work of the Kingdom. Dedicated to the supreme authority of the Holy Scriptures, this person must be grounded in its wisdom and precepts. The Senior Pastor must believe in orthodox doctrine as expressed in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds and in the Chapel Covenant , and welcoming of Christian traditions as befits our interdenominational Chapel, including the celebration of the Christian Year and conducting a sacramental ministry through Baptism and Holy Communion. We seek a pastor of the Word and of the Spirit who has strong leadership, communication, and pastoral skills, who leads a life of humility, prayer, and integrity, and who displays the fruit and ministerial gifts of the Holy Spirit. We seek a person who will unconditionally love the people of our faith-based congregation and the surrounding community and draw them to a more intimate and fulfilling walk with the Lord. The Qualifications · Minimum of a post-graduate degree in Theology/Divinity. · A record of seeking to grow in ministry skills and relationship with the Lord. · Experience in pastoring healthy churches and demonstrated ability to lead others effectively. · A minimum of ten years of experience and a record of success in increasingly responsible roles in church leadership. Initially, the pastoral profile is dispersed throughout a variety of venues and networks to get the word out. However, the goal is not to wait passively for resumes to come in, but the focus is to actively seek out candidates nationwide. After a narrowing of the candidate pool, your search team will conduct all final interviews and make the hiring decision.
