MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Asia, Middle East and Africa Rewards Director is a key role within the Opella organization responsible for the management of the Reward function for the AMEA region, including direct support for the Indian Nomination & Remuneration Committee (NRC), and providing expert Rewards advice for the Opella Global Digital function, Science function and Global Capability Centres (GCC).

As part of the Global Rewards Leadership Team and as a manager of a team of two Rewards Managers, the role will require strong change management skills and an ability to apply expertise in the areas of Compensation, Benefits, Performance, Recognition and Wellbeing to support Opella’s journey towards becoming the best Consumer Healthcare company in and for the world.

While driving the Opella Reward strategy across the AMEA region, the role will deliver seamless support to business leaders and the People & Culture teams within their direct responsibility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage, coach and develop the Opella AMEA Rewards Team, consisting of the India & AMET Rewards Manager based in India and the Asia Pacific Rewards Manager based in Singapore.

  • As a member of the Global Rewards Leadership Team for Opella, shape the Global Rewards strategy, develop Rewards talent and represent the needs of your customers.

  • As a member of the AMEA People & Culture Leadership Team, shape the AMEA people agenda, finding the balance between business Rewards needs and global Rewards policies.

  • Partner with the business leaders and People & Culture (P&C) Teams in AMEA, Digital, Science and the GCC to deliver exceptional Rewards advice and services.

  • Collaborate with the Indian P&C Director and the AMEA Regional People VP to collective own and manage the Indian NRC relationships, agenda and documentation. Work directly with the Opella Head of Global Rewards & Performance to ensure the topics and content remain aligned with Global Opella strategy.

  • In partnership with the Global benefits team, manage the Opella AMEA Benefits strategy.

  • Monitor the competitive Fast-Moving Consumer Healthcare marketplace to benchmark Rewards externally and develop ideas for innovation and constant improvement.

  • Lead the communication and governance for AMEA Opella Incentive plans, including the Global bonus plan, Management Equity Package, Sales Incentive Plans and Factory Incentive Plans.

  • Drive the Individual Performance Management process for AMEA.

  • Enable the smooth operation of the International Mobility processes in AMEA, providing the International Mobility Team with frontline insights and support.

Experience

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Reward leadership roles or in similar professional environments with Fast Moving Consumer Healthcare experience is a plus

  • Strong team working skills including an ability to work across multiple borders, cultures and within multi-disciplinary teams

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to prepare and present technical topics to meetings in a way that is easy to understand

  • Strong project management, numeracy and technical skills including working experience of excel and database systems.

  • Experience with Remuneration Committees or similar board structures is a plus.

  • Networking, Business Partnering and Business Acumen skills.

  • Complete fluency in English is essential to effectively liaise and communicate with regional stakeholders.
