The Simulation Engineer is responsible for discrete event simulation, Digital Twin enablement, and MTM‑based time analysis during the design and industrialization phases of manufacturing systems. The role supports capacity planning, What If Scneario’s Validation, Material Flow Optimization, takt achievement, productivity optimization, and ergonomic‑time validation for complex manufacturing lines across electrification and powertrain programs.
The position enables virtual validation of manufacturing systems by combining simulation models, MTM standards, and production data, supporting data‑driven decision‑making within AME.
Key Responsibilities
Develop discrete event simulation models for new manufacturing concepts and future‑state scenarios.
Perform cycle time, capacity, utilization, and resource optimization analysis.
Execute what‑if scenarios to evaluate automation strategies, line balancing, and operational variability.
Conduct material flow analysis and support layout design and optimization for assembly and machining lines.
Analyze simulation results and provide actionable insights to achieve required TAKT time, especially for high‑mix production.
Apply MTM standards to validate manual operation times and support standardized work content definition.
Integrate MTM‑based time data into simulation models for realistic and reliable cycle‑time behavior.
Support line balancing, workload distribution, and ergonomic time analysis in collaboration with Industrial Engineering teams.
Support development and use of manufacturing Digital Twins by linking simulation, MTM standards, and production data.
Enable virtual validation and performance comparison between simulated, planned, and actual production to drive continuous improvement.
