If you a skilled and detail-oriented Technician or Machinist professional looking for an opportunity to grow. Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Chihuahua, Mexico location. A focus on hands on work in assembly, machining, wiring, and fabrication of tooling for automation and test. This person will be partnering and collaborating with AME automation and test engineering teams to support all Copeland electronic facilities and contract manufacturers as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience with both manual and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery, strong blueprint and schematic reading skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

As an Advanced Manufacturing Technician, YOU WILL:

· Set up and operate machines such as lathes, milling machines, and CNC equipment.

· Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.

· Assemble mechanical, wiring, and pneumatic systems

· Measure, examine, and test completed parts for conformance to specifications using precision instruments.

· Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot malfunctions as needed.

· Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and ensure product quality.

· Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations.

· Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve manufacturing processes.

· Document production activities and maintain records of machine settings and maintenance.

· Assist in the assembly, machining, and qualification of test equipment and systems.

· Ensure wiring is done in a clean and cl ear manor for future troubleshooting and maintenance of production test and automation equipment.

· Contribute expertise for design of test fixturing and automation equipment

· Label cable/hoses and modify the cable list and schematics as needed.

· Cable management and cable termination with soldering and pressing tools.

· Verify continuities and power supplies using digital multimeters.

· Acquisition and ordering of materials for build.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience as a test technician in a manufacturing or R&D environment, with hands-on proficiency in operating manual and CNC machines to fabricate or modify test fixtures, prototypes, or mechanical components.

  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.

  • Understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming is an advantage.

  • 10+ years of experience as a test technician in a manufacturing or R&D environment, with hands-on proficiency in operating manual and CNC machines to fabricate or modify test fixtures, prototypes, or mechanical components.
