Job Description

The Ambulatory Secretary is the key contact for patients visiting.. The incumbent greets patients, processes forms and paperwork, and handles financial arrangements. Provides secretarial support, performs extensive scheduling duties, and serves as liaison between patient and medical staff. Performs data entry, and other job-related duties.

Specifications: High School Diploma required; Associates degree or at least two years equivalent experience in a health care environment. Must be familiar with medical office procedures and medical terminology and be proficient in use of Dictaphone. Knowledge of word processing and computer applications required; experience with medical scheduling and registration information systems preferred. Must have excellent secretarial, interpersonal and communications skills, and be proficient in the English language.
